Historical Archive: Neonian (Orthodox) baptistery, Battistero Neoniano, Ravenna
Lower levels

initial construction late fourth or early fifth century
dome and interior, probably including pulpit, under Bishop Neon (about 451 to about 473)
font Greek marble, 12th-13th century, rebuilt 16th century
Current floor level is about 3 meters (118 inches) above the original one.
